The high quality of our products is supported by modern mechanical equipment and software. Our machinery is of a high technical level and it is suitable for customized as well as small-series production. We constantly expand our machinery
and we emphasize the environmental aspect of our production by the means of, for example, the low consumption of electricity needed for our machine and device operation.

NEW MOLD CASTING HALL 

In the new mold casting hall, the melt is processed using a modern degassing device for dosing the refining soil and the modification granulate and inoculant into the vortex in the middle of the crucible, which creates a fast-turning rotor. All stirring of the additives and oxygen distribution in the metal in the melting and maintenance crucible is ensured by the rotor reverse operation. Gas, as well as electric resistance crucible furnaces, provide a sufficient melt capacity for mold casting on machines of various sizes and complexity (from one to six hydraulic pullers).

Investment casting into molds is one of the dynamic casting methods. It offers a convenient alternative to the stationary gravitational casting into molds, when the machine tilts by 90° when filling the mold cavities with the melt. Contrary to the stationary casting, no turbulence happens when the melt flows. The filling method can be compared to filling a glass with beer. The only difference is that the founders talk about melt oxidation or absorbed air from the mold cavity or core gas instead of the beer foam. First of all, the founder fills the inlet hole while the machine is in position pursuant to the photo on the left, Next, the founder puts the machine in motion using the given pedal, until it is in the horizontal solidification position - see the photo on the right. This method requires that the hole volume corresponds to the total metal volume in the mold. The hole can also be filled only partially, upon which the metal can be added manually during the initial stages of tilting the machine. As it is stated on the PRODUCTION PROGRAM bar, customers can order casts with higher mechanical characteristics. This way, pressure-tight casts (for which the customer does not permit impregnation) or larger, thin-wall casts can be cast.

WORKSHOP FOR MANUAL FORMING OF LARGE CASTS

The foundry utilizes internal logistics with 2 Linde H25 forklifts, manual battery-driven Linde L12 and Armanni 105/16 high lifts and vehicles used for transporting material - for example, Volkswagen Crafter, Peugeot Lamar and Dacia Dokker.

The workshop for the manual forming of large casts requires multidisciplinary knowledge of the employees who prepare the melt, form large model panels as well as free models, use coolers and extract the frames. The charm of working with sand molds lays in a very precise work with details, while also handling multi-ton objects, including hard work with a hammer or pneumatic compactor.

The casts must be separated from the inlet and casting system, for which purpose power saws are used. The saw operator must be very responsible because not much material can remain on the cast for the next operation (grinding). At the same time, the saw blade must not penetrate the actual cast shape. Apart from proper sorting of the recyclable metals pursuant to the given alloy type, the operator also marks discrepant parts during this operation.

The work at the foundry with manual tools is very diverse since the KOVOLIT Česká foundry produces hundreds of various cast types. Its skillful employees manually grind the traces from the casting and inlet system into the given cast shape. They ensure that the surface of the parts is of good quality before the final blasting. They are also responsible for sorting out discrepant products.
